I purchased this hardware kit for my son's drum teacher who lives in Europe and saw it on the internet but couldn't order it. It will be installed on a traditional Bulgarian percussion instrument called "tupan" in order to be able to tune both of it's sides more precisely. My experience dealing with Welch Tuning Systems has been very positive. I communicated with Samuel Welch directly. Once he understood why I want to buy his WTS Hardware Kit, he offered to customize it for me by including 2 extra bass cables at no charge, which was very nice. The quality of this product is amazing and I am very excited to see it in action once I deliver it to Europe. Thank you very much.

Most of the kit (2 out of 3) arrived last Thursday and it just so happened that I had a gig in downtown Denver on an outdoor, 11th floor terrace playing background music for a high-brow, law firm party. I only had time to unbox them and throw them into cases. As I was setting up I was almost crying from the beauty of the wood. Within seconds, I was able to get the kick and floor tom tuned to how I like it. Throughout the night I experimented with different tunings based on the music style which is something I would never have attempted during a gig with traditional lugs. My bandmates were incredibly impressed while I was over the moon with joy. These drums are everything I had hoped for concerning their tone, their stunning wood, their craftsmanship, their resonance and their extreme versatility of range. I have been using two kits over the last decade for all of my professional gigs. I bought a stunning Cherry Craviotto be bop kit in 2011 for all of my small room, quiet, jazzy gigs and then a Sonor Prolite kit for all of my pop, wedding, gospel gigs. This RRDA/WTS shall now replace both kits in which I will be selling. I can’t ever, ever justify using a non WTS kit from now on! There’s the famous saying, “a band is only as good as it’s drummer.” Well to spin off that, I like to think a studio is only as good as its drum kit…. and without a doubt, the Welch Tuning Systems kit has become one of our prized possessions at the Relix Studio, blowing the minds of drummers on a regular basis. When we started the Relix Sessions on Twitch, building the first only exclusive streaming concert venue in NYC, I knew we needed an amazing house kit, and by divine intervention, we met Sam and the Welch Tuning Systems family and have been blessed with a WTS Artistry Series since the beginning. We’ve have the most watch[ed] music channel on Twitch and host bands on a weekly basis, so we get a variety of drummers through our studio, with limited sound check time. So we not only needed a backline kit that is versatile but is easy to tune and able create beautiful tones on the fly. With the WTS, we got that and then some. Every drummer that has come through our studio has used our WTS kit over their personal kits, and some have even gone as far as to get sponsored by WTS. With our mixes and productions, me and my engineer are easily able to achieve incredible drum tones on the fly and so much of that has to do with this incredible set. Sam and WTS have truly changed the game and have made our lives easier and full drum gooey goodness. Pay. Attention.

WTS Drums arent like any drumset I've ever played before! The craftsmanship is A1, and the technology behind the tuning systems is mind blowing! Imagine a drum that has a tuning key like an upright bass! You can go from high to low in seconds! Wow! Every drummer should have a kit.

These drums sing, and hold their tone in a beautiful fundamental way that drums should, but sometimes don't. The first time I sat down at a WTS kit I was completely sold. Tuning on the fly is now actually possible!

With multiple sweet spots, these drums sing at any tuning! Playing in a 2-piece group, every note is important. Now I can change my melodic intervals while the guitar player tunes! No more lugs spinning loose at a gig from playing the rims. The affects that heat, humidity & altitude changes have on tuning while on tour can be fixed before the guitar player can plug in their pedalboard at soundcheck. Amazing! And recording? Fugetaboutit! I only have to worry about mic placement. No more chasing down unwanted overtones. They record as big as my 14/18/24 Ludwigs, as consistent as my 12/16/20 DWs & as subtle as my vintage 12/16/22 Slingerlands. Those are all in the closet now. Simply put: No matter the situation these drums allow me to be me without compromise - you can't ask for more than that.

I mean, its an amazing kit. I would say that sometimes with a house kit you walk in the room and it needs a lot of work, sometimes it needs very little, but this one needed no work. It just sounded great out of the box, I honestly didn’t touch it. I just put maybe a little bit of muting on it just to take a ring out or two and that was it.

I was actually well impressed with the kit [at Relix Studio]. When we were playing the songs, because they have different tonality on the snare that I like depending on the song, for this particular setting to be able to just turn the knob so quickly without having to tune it, that was one of the best features for me. I really like the depth of the kick, the tom and the snare and it was quite different but I love the fact that you can do everything so fast. Excellent job on your part.

I really really liked the kit. I’ve seen them online, I follow a drummer online named Steve Pruitt who is one of your endorsers and he’s always talking about Welch Tuning Systems so it was nice to finally use them. I think it's one of the most innovative tuning systems for drums I’ve ever seen, so I really hope the company does well, I hope to see more of them in future and hope I get to play on them more in the future.

I loved the Welch Tuning Kit System, it has nice clear tones, obviously its super easy to tune, took just a couple turns and it was already where it needed to be.
